Photonics Platforms

NAPF is preparing phased process design kit (PDK) releases and platform expansion for research and industry collaborators.

Release Roadmap

NAPF plans to launch in the second half of 2026 with initial PDK releases focused on passive photonic devices.

H2 2026 Initial Releases

• SOI 220 nm PDK at 1550 nm.
• SiN 400 nm PDK at 1550 nm.
• Initial release scope: passive devices only.

2027 Expansion

• Silicon carbide-on-insulator (SiCOI) wafer production is slated to begin in 2027.
• Initial SiCOI 1550 nm PDK is planned for launch later in 2027.

Platform Direction

• Silicon photonics and SiN process development at telecom wavelengths.
• Progressive platform extension to SiCOI in line with wafer readiness.
• Ongoing expansion of component libraries and documentation for future releases.
